Before
Context
Kutner, Corrado & Friedrich, LLP, a medical malpractice defense firm, had their web presence entirely controlled by a third party. Their domain, DNS configuration, email infrastructure, and website all lived under a vendor relationship they were trying to exit. When that relationship ended, the firm had no clear path to recovering ownership of their own digital identity. Their site was effectively held hostage, their email was at risk, and they had no technical team to navigate any of it.
What I Did
The Work
I came in through Ignite Studios as a technical consultant and handled the full transition. That meant negotiating and executing the domain recovery, reconfiguring DNS from scratch, rebuilding the email infrastructure so the firm’s communications were stable and under their control, and rebuilding the site on Squarespace. I also managed client communications throughout, translating technical decisions into plain language so the firm’s principals could make informed choices at each step. The project required working carefully across registrars, hosting configurations, and platform migrations simultaneously without taking the firm’s operations offline.

Results & Outcomes
KCF Law came out of the engagement with full ownership and control of their domain, email, and website, none of which they had going in. The site launched cleanly on Squarespace. Their email infrastructure was stable. The dependency on the previous vendor was fully severed. For a small law firm without any in-house technical capacity, having that independence restored was the entire point.
